Banoffee Coffee Smoothie

This recipe is the perfect start to the day - it’s packed with whole grain fibre, some natural sugars from the banana, and a little kick of caffeine too! Sharpham Park’s creamy organic spelt barista blend drink gives this vegan smoothie a wonderfully luxurious texture. If you fancy making a ‘mocha’ smoothie try adding a tablespoon of organic cocoa powder, and if you like a little texture to your smoothie try whizzing in a handful of Sharpham Park’s organic walnuts too!

 

Recipe for 2 x serves of smoothie:

 

  • 250 ml / 1 cup organic Naked Oat & Spelt drink / Organic Spelt Barista drink  
  • 50 g / ½ cup spelt porridge flakes
  • 1 banana, ideally frozen
  • 1 double shot espresso, or 100 ml strong black coffee
  • 2-4 dates, depending on your sweet tooth!
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ice cubes, optional

 

Method:

  1. Simply combine everything in a blender and whizz until smooth and creamy. If you like your smoothies extra cold whizz in a few ice cubes as well. Do pre-freeze ripe, peeled bananas if you can as this makes the smoothie so thick, creamy and luxurious in texture!
