We’re delighted to be launching our new spelt pasta.

It’s taken us a long time to work out the best way to create a delicious tasting premium spelt pasta in an ethical and sustainable manner.  Having the pasta manufactured in the UK by an Italian pasta maker has ensured our food miles are as low as possible and we’re delighted to be launching our home compostable packaging which we believe is the way forward for food packaging and one which we will be utilising throughout our range in 2020.

The pasta is bronze drawn in time honoured Italian fashion which ensures it is of the highest possible quality. The surface is much rougher allowing the pasta to cook evenly and absorb the perfect amount of sauce.

The first 3 shapes in the range are:

Gigli Rigati – made from Sharpham Park Organic White Spelt flour

Casarecce – made from Sharpham Park Organic Wholegrain Spelt flour

Conchiglie – made from Sharpham Park Organic Bakers Blend flour which is a special 60/40% mix of Organic Wholegrain and Organic White Spelt flour.

We love the explanation by our friend and chef Valentina Harris to the meaning of the Italian names – Gigli Rigati is lillies, Conchiglie means seashells and Casarecce  is harder to translate; rustic home-made maccheroni is the nearest she could get….

The pasta is made using only our award winning organic spelt flour and water which means it is perfect for vegans and those following a plant based diet.
